Stephen Amelio is back in the Arrowverse, joining the cast of the CW show.
Amell will be playing General Swan as he prepares to take over as the new Chief of Police of the fictional city of Oliver Queen’s hometown of Metropolis.
Amelio says he’ll be playing “a character who is very much in line with Oliver’s upbringing, but in a very different light,” while “he’s been dealing with some very difficult personal issues.”
The actor, who also starred in the NBC sitcom “Modern Family,” was first cast in the CW series in January.
He plays Oliver’s father, Thea Queen, and Oliver’s love interest, Felicity Smoak.
He’ll be joined in the show by fellow Arrow cast member and The CW showrunner Marc Guggenheim.
Amell’s return to the Arrow universe comes a few weeks after “Arrow” star Stephen Amiller was seen on the set of “Archer” filming in the Philippines.
He recently wrapped filming on “The Killing Fields,” the sequel to the 2014 Netflix film “The Girl on the Train.”
